As noted in
an earlier post, according to the NY Times, many biologists "believe that if morality grew out of behavioral rules shaped by evolution, it is for biologists, not philosophers or theologians, to say what these rules are." Well if this is case, then we should all eagerly
follow the teachings of PZ Myers to discern the wise path of moral enlightenment.
If you are wondering what gives PZ the right to determine which books are available to rest of us, rest assured. It is because he is right, and he is sure of it, and, as he noted in his "break out the steel-toed boots and brass knuckles" post, he is on the side of
reason and human rights:
[D]on't even suggest that we're being too partisan. I am on the side of reason and human rights, and my only failing is that I'm not partisan enough.

Fred Hoyle, the great physicist and debunker of Darwinism, on its "get meaner" ideology:
"The protective instinct in man took a long step backwards from 1860 onwards. Whether Darwinism with its philosophy that opportunism is all, was the cause of the Realpolitik that overwhelmed the world from 1860 onwards, or whether it was Realpolitik that spawned Darwinism, is hard to say, for the two went hand-in-hand, leading with mounting inevitability to two World Wars in the present century..."

Part of my comment on the views of Fred Hoyle, the great physicist and debunker of Darwinism, seems to have been blocked out (above.)
I thought this interesting:

I used to think that on those rare occasions when I was blessed with the treat of 'debating' a Darwiniac, that it was because I was "mean" to them. A friend recently told be that this was not the case. He said the warming up exercises in preparation for "much butt-kicking" give the Darwiniacs a pantyhose wedgie, and that's what brings on the tears.
He may be correct. I believe that chfing may be a contributing factor as well.
Sorry. Too early in the morning:
